Camping

Bodiam June 2013

Do I enjoy camping. No not really. Would I ever go camping again. Yes most probably. But why such a difference of opinion you say. Well alcohol is the only answer to that.

What else is there to do?? Drive to an empty field, find a secluded spot, struggle putting up the 17 thousand pieced tent, then blow up the most uncomfortable bed in the world.

Once that is all done and satisfied you have somewhere safe to crash, it's time for absolute carnage.

We went to park farm camping, Bodiam. Was a very relaxed site, inviting guests to start wild fires though out the night. Although there curfew was 11, we lasted into the very early hours, laughing joking and generally making arses of ourselves to the delight of the over travellers. Another great thing about camping, is it feels acceptable to open a can of cider for breakfast. A great little weekend apart from the drive home!!

Thorpe Park

Personally I think people should research the least busiest day of the season before they go to this place. I have been very lucky in the past to have found a few of these dates. This time was very different. We only had time for 5 rides, it took us 2 hours to get there too. 2 hour queues for saw & swarm, the later being absolutely appalling. Two water rides that left us soaking wet as we put out fat friend at the front. Thankfully the weather was shinny and the tans were topped up. Top tip, don't go to Thorpe park when the sun is out and the schools are beginning to finish!

Newquay

Newquay 11th June to 15th June

We stayed at the sensationally located The Headlands Hotel, set over looking Fistral beach. We actually stayed in their cottages, which were superbly decorated and welcomely cosy. Unfortunately we wasn't their during this heat wave we are burning our way through. The weather was exceptionally windy, blowing everything around whatever in its way. This also made a lot of sand make itself fell like home on my car. What a beautiful place, from the town to the numerous coves situated around the area. My favourite being lusty glaze, a lovely secluded sun trap which included a delightful little restaurant operating under the same name. I had a wonderful time as I hope my mum did since it was her 50th birthday present from us all.
